FOR 15 DAYS, WE DROVE FROM PORTLAND TO PORTLAND CREATING DAILY NARRATIVE LIGHT INSTALLATIONS. IT WAS INCREDIBLE.

During June of 2015 the amazing Craig Winslow and I decided to run a Kickstarter campaign to fund our first collaborative art piece: Projecting West

Launched with just two weeks before we planned to leave, it became a Kickstarter Staff Pick and was successfully funded the same day we hit the road.

The goal was to make content for each day on site, film it, and send to our wonderful backers.

I would create storyboards, characters and character animations, while Craig created beautiful abstract patterns. We would also produce a collection of audio logs, commentary, and photographs along the way.

The narrative became an extension of our feelings moving from the East coast to the West Coast to pursue our dreams.

But, we hit some snags.

My body mutinied against me and forced me to sleep when I needed to animate, there was a flash flood, there was no internet and Craig let me drive!
It was an adventure in the purest sense.

During the project, I created an illustration for each day that ran along side the animated project. These illustrations eventually made their way to 15 backers of our project.
